My Blue Balloon is about a child who is sad about losing his balloon. Throughout My Blue Balloon the boys’ mother helps him to imagine all the wonderful things his lost balloon will see and visit. By the end of My Blue Balloon the boy turns his frown upside down and is excited to release another balloon into the unknown.
